A cold front is expected to continue to move southeast through the corn-growing region over the next 24-36 hours. Southeast of the front, modest south to southwest winds are likely, and this may lead to some isolated corn earworm migration events especially from southeast Kansas east into Missouri, central and southern Illinois, and points east into Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, and southern lower Michigan where a Low risk is predicted into midday Tuesday. High pressure is expected to build into the northern corn-growing region once this front passes, and a reinforcing cold front may also move south through the region around mid-week. For these reasons, little to no additional migration risk is predicted for the balance of the week. Once we get into the latter portion of next weekend and especially the next week, however, we expect favorable migration conditions to return and new risks are likely to be added to the forecast later this week.
