Corn earworm migration risks will remain in the forecast for the next few nights until a cold front finally pushes through much, if not all, of the corn-growing region by later in the weekend. Low risks are found tonight into tomorrow morning across portions of Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky especially along and south of the US 20 corridor. Clusters of thunderstorms continue to traverse from west to east roughly along and either side of I-80, and this should continue until a cold front pushes through by Saturday. Low risks extend as far north as Minnesota, Wisconsin, and lower Michigan tomorrow night into Saturday ahead of this front, and we will continue to monitor precipitation trends to see if any elevated risks are needed ahead of this cold front in tomorrow’s forecast. Northwest flow looks to dominate the weather for much of the corn-growing region early-mid next week, so little to no migration risk is predicted after Saturday at this time.
