Alert Details

Low corn earworm migration risks have been introduced to the forecast in the Saturday night into Sunday time frame as well as likely lasting into Sunday night into Monday as a low pressure develops in the High Plains and southerly winds return to the risk area in at least some fashion. The overall weather pattern does not look supportive for scattered or widespread flights, but Low risks seem warranted for fields mainly west of the Mississippi River Saturday night into Sunday and then as far east as US 51 in Wisconsin and Illinois Sunday night into Monday. Even though the overall expected pattern does not look super favorable, we have to look at the time of year and crop stage both in southern source regions, which is less and less attractive by the day as the crop matures in that area, and crops still attractive further to the north so continue to monitor forecasts this week for the latest updates.
