A cold front is still expected to move through much of the corn-growing region this weekend. A corridor of south to southwest winds in advance of or east of the front may lead to some isolated corn earworm migration flights especially from eastern Kansas and Nebraska as far east as I-69 in south central lower Michigan, Indiana, and western Kentucky, and potentially as far north as southeast Minnesota and Wisconsin. The front is likely to result in cooler temperatures by early next week on northerly winds, so we see little to no additional migration risk once this front moves through. Fresh market and processing growers, however, should continue trapping and scouting efforts until harvest.
