Alert Details

Moderate corn earworm migration risks remain especially across the eastern corn-growing region and adjacent sections of Ontario, Canada in the next 24 hours as a sharp cold front moves through the region. Southwest winds in advance of the front and precipitation may lead to scattered moth flights into this region later this evening into early Friday morning. Moderate risks include portions of Kentucky, eastern Indiana, southeast Michigan, Ohio, western Pennsylvania, southwest New York, and southern Ontario, Canada. Once the front moves by, no migration risk is predicted due to a lack of southerly winds until the very end of the forecast cycle. A Low risk returns to the Plains states next Monday night into Tuesday as the next low pressure system develops in the Rockies and High Plains causing an initial return of southerly winds into this area at that time.
