Alert Details

A Low corn earworm migration risk is predicted across a portion of the central and eastern corn-growing region later this evening into early Tuesday morning. South to southwest winds in advance of a cold front in the Plains and western Midwest states will pose a migration risk especially from source regions in Arkansas and surrounding states. While precipitation will be somewhat widespread across a portion of the Low risk area, strong south to southwest winds may allow isolated moth flights to occur especially into Missouri and central/eastern Iowa eastward into western Ohio and as far north as southern Wisconsin and lower Michigan. While many crops have just been planted or are being planted now, any hosts that are present may serve as a residence for a potential first generation flight that may, eventually, result in a source region for additional generations later in this growing season when crops will be at susceptible stages to damage.
