Corn Earworm
Corn earworm migration risks return to portions of the Plains and western Midwest by this weekend. With many crops just recently planted or very early in their growth, risks are kept in the Low category despite a favorable weather pattern for migration. South to southwest winds will increase especially across Kansas into Nebraska by late Friday and will likely be persistent in this area as well as spreading further east into Iowa and Missouri as the holiday weekend progresses. Growers in the Low risk area should monitor any potential host plants for signs of new corn earworm moths by early next week.
