Alert Details

The weather pattern across the corn-growing region has calmed down quite a bit since last week’s repeated rounds of heavy rain and strong winds. Coincidentally, corn earworm migration risks are kept in the Low category and are only predicted for the Saturday night into Sunday morning time period from Kansas and Missouri northeast into eastern Nebraska, Iowa, southern Minnesota, southern Wisconsin, and Illinois. A quick-moving but potent low pressure system should result in south to southwest winds east of a cold front across the corn-growing region. Precipitation near the front may result in primarily isolated drop zone regions across the Low risk area due to an expected quick movement of the weather system.
