Alert Details

The weather pattern by next week is expected to become more conducive to corn earworm migration as a predominantly northwest to southeast flow shifts to a zonal or southwest to northeast flow especially by later next week. If this comes to pass, additional heat units may help crops mature especially in the upper Midwest where more heat is needed, but it may also lead to increased moth flights into the same region. In the meantime, no migration risks are in place through Saturday morning, but Low risks do return to fields primarily west of I-35 by Saturday night into Sunday morning and then as far east as the southwest Great Lakes region late in the weekend and early next week. Increased risks are expected later next week so please continue to monitor the forecast for the latest updates!
