Corn Earworm
A low risk of corn earworm migration is in place across portions of Kansas, southeast Nebraska, southern Iowa, and Missouri on both Sunday night into Monday morning and again Monday night into Tuesday morning. An upper level low pressure system will slowly advance east across the southwest United States into the southern and mid-south region of the United States by early next week. A pressure gradient between the southwest low and high pressure advancing into the southeast United States may result in some southerly winds especially across the southwest portion of the corn-growing region by late in the weekend and early next week. Growers are advised that it is still early in the growing season and crops are not at a susceptible stage to damage, but some first generation moths may still make it into the region in the next week but likely not on a widespread basis.
