Corn Earworm
Corn earworm risks are in the Low category for tonight into Friday morning across portions of Missouri, southeast Iowa, much of Illinois, Indiana, and western Kentucky as low pressure and an attendant cold front move through the middle Mississippi River valley region. Primarily weak southerly winds along with fairly widespread showers and thunderstorms limit the risk. No other migration risk is predicted in the next five days as high pressure remains in control across the corn-growing region and any southerly winds should remain confined to the southern United States or the far western High Plains. Growers, however, are encouraged to continue to scout for larvae from previous flights this growing season and also moth captures should be monitored especially across the southern half of the corn-growing region where some moth flights may have occurred in the past several days.
