Alert Details

Low corn earworm migration risks return to the forecast by late week and into next weekend as southerly winds increase ahead of the next cold front that is predicted to move through the corn-growing region. There are still some processing and fresh-market fields in the upper Midwest that are at susceptible stages to damage, and the introduction of new corn earworm moths may cause some problems especially from eastern South Dakota into far northern Iowa, central and southern Minnesota, and Wisconsin by late this week. Growers with fields at susceptible stages to damage should monitor for the potential introduction of new migrants and treat as needed by that time.
