Corn Earworm
A strong cold front is predicted to pass through the corn-growing region during the latter half of this week. Ahead of the front, however, south to southwest winds should continue to blow and may pose an isolated corn earworm migration risk especially for fields in Minnesota, Wisconsin, lower Michigan, and southern Ontario, Canada where there are still crops at susceptible stages to damage either due to late or re-planted crops. Low risk areas focus across southern/central Minnesota into western/northwestern Wisconsin tonight into tomorrow morning; across much of Wisconsin into lower Michigan tomorrow night into Thursday morning; and finally across lower Michigan and southern Ontario, Canada Thursday night into Friday morning. Growers in the Low risk areas with crops still at susceptible stages to damage should continue to monitor their fields until growth stages advance past critical growth stages or the growing season ends.
