Alert Details

Corn earworm migration possibilities return to the Plains states on Friday night into Saturday morning as the next low pressure system organizes in the western Plains states.  Southerly winds and prospects for precipitation both increase by that time, and may lead to isolated corn earworm moth flights initially across Kansas into southern Nebraska.  The Low risk spreads north and east into Iowa, Missouri, and Illinois by Saturday night and finally into the southern Great Lakes and eastern corn-growing regions by Sunday night into Monday morning as a cold front begins moving southeast.  Growers should monitor for new moths in the Low risk area in the coming week.
