Alert Details

No risk of corn earworm migration is predicted in the next five days. A rather persistent northwest flow is expected to remain in place across the whole of the corn-growing region right into early next week, and a ridge of high pressure located across the mid-south should keep any potential corn earworm migrants in the fields in that part of the country. Growers located especially to the west of Lake Michigan, however, should continue to monitor traps and scout fields as some newly-arrived migrants may now be present in some areas especially from Nebraska and eastern South Dakota east into southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.
