Corn Earworm
A rather potent low pressure system is predicted to develop and eventually track northeast through the western and central portion of the corn-growing region early-mid next week. A cold front is likely to trail to the south of this low pressure with south to southwest winds in advance of the front. There is a possibility of some isolated corn earworm moth flights especially next Monday night into Tuesday morning from roughly I-35 east into the eastern corn-growing region, and mainly south of I-90/94 at that time. While there is no real threat to any crops at this time, some of these early migrants could potentially find some suitable hosts and produce additional generations later this summer.
