Corn Earworm
A low pressure system and associated frontal boundaries are predicted to move through the corn-growing region especially early-mid next week. To the east of the cold front, at least scattered precipitation is anticipated along with south to southwest winds originating from a favorable source region in the mid-south. As a result, Low migration risks are predicted mainly east of I-35 and south of I-80 starting Sunday night and continuing into Tuesday next week. Growers should be advised that there is no threat from any early migrants at this point, but these early migrants may produce generations later this summer that could cause damage if they find suitable hosts upon arriving.
