Alert Details

As southerly winds increase in the western corn-growing region today into tonight, Low corn earworm migration risks will be in the forecast especially across northern Kansas, Nebraska, southern South Dakota, southwest Minnesota, western Iowa, and far western Missouri. Some isolated moth flights will be possible in this risk area as low pressure deepens across the western Plains states. By tomorrow night into Saturday morning, Low risks continue in the forecast across virtually the same region but also further north into eastern South Dakota and Minnesota as well as into far southwest Wisconsin, eastern Iowa, far northwest and western Illinois, and northern Missouri. A cold front is then predicted to pass through much of the corn-growing region this weekend which should end any potential migration risks.
