Alert Details

A cold front is expected to push southeast through the middle part of the corn-growing region today into tonight. South to southwest winds are expected to continue to the east of the front but are likely to be weaker than the past few days. Nonetheless, Low corn earworm migration risks are predicted mainly east of a line from near Columbia, Missouri to north of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and east into the I-75 corridor from Detroit, Michigan south to near Cincinnati, Ohio. No additional risks are predicted after midday Thursday as precipitation is expected to increase across any potential active source regions in the mid-south and southern corn-growing region and also as northwest flow locks back in across much of the central part of the country by late in the weekend and early next week.
