Corn Earworm
A brief return to some heat and humidity across at least a portion of the corn-growing region looks probable mid-late week this week ahead of another cold front. To the east of this front, southwest winds may result in an isolated corn earworm moth flight chance especially from source regions across southern Kansas and Missouri southward into northern Texas. Low migration risks are predicted from northeast Kansas and northern Missouri northeast into southeast Minnesota and Wisconsin Wednesday night into Thursday morning. At this time, no additional risks are in the forecast as the flow is expected to become northwesterly again by next weekend and a potential tropical system moving through the southern United States, potentially including source regions across the mid-south, may inhibit additional migration risks further east as the front pushes to the southeast late this week.
