Alert Details

A rather strong cold front is expected to push through much of the corn-growing region over the next 24 hours. Ahead of this front, southwest winds are expected and could be rather gusty today into tonight. Some corn earworm migration events may occur near a stout line of showers/storms that should develop along the front later today and then track east through the central and portions of the eastern corn-growing region tonight. Low risks are predicted mainly east of a line from Columbia, Missouri to Milwaukee, Wisconsin through midday tomorrow. After midday tomorrow, no additional migration risks are predicted as northwest flow locks in and envelops much of the corn-growing region through early next week.
