Corn Earworm
A cold front is likely to pass through much of the corn-growing region late this week. Ahead of the front, there is expected to be a brief period of south to southwest winds which should be originating in active source regions across the mid-south and north into the southern corn-growing region, as well, especially by Thursday into Friday morning. For this reason, Low migration risks are in place mainly along and east of I-55 which runs from St. Louis, Missouri northeast to Chicago, Illinois and points east, including eastern Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, southern lower Michigan, and far southwest Ontario, Canada. The quick-moving nature of this system and lack of deepening of the low likely not until Thursday limits the overall risk despite the favorable setup and time of year. No additional risks are in the forecast at this time.
