Alert Details

A new area of low pressure is expected to develop across the central Plains states and move east through the heart of the corn-growing region this weekend. South and east of a trailing cold front, some weak southerly winds are likely but so is precipitation. Some of this precipitation, especially across eastern Kansas and Missouri, may limit the overall push of any potential moths north. Nonetheless, a Low migration risk is in place for tomorrow night into Sunday morning from northeast Kansas into far eastern Nebraska, Iowa, western Illinois, and northern Missouri. No additional risks are in the forecast as this system is looking to pass a little further south than previously predicted, so the overall risk for the eastern corn-growing region has been removed from this outlook.
