Corn Earworm
A cold front is moving through the corn-growing region at the present time, and will end any potential corn earworm migration risk for the rest of the week and into much of the weekend as northwest flow returns to the area. Low risks are back in the forecast, however, as early as Sunday night into Monday mainly across the southwestern portion of the corn-growing region with the risk expanding north into the I-90 corridor and east into the southern Great Lakes region by Monday night into Tuesday morning. The overall pattern remains somewhat active and progressive so details are limited at this time distance, but Low risks are warranted given the overall weather setup. Growers with crops at susceptible stages to damage, especially near and south of the Great Lakes area, should monitor traps and scout fields as some flights may have occurred the past few nights.
