Alert Details

A cold front is expected to move into the northern Plains and northern corn-growing region by late this week. To the east of the front, a corridor of southerly winds is likely along with at least some precipitation. We may see some isolated moth flights into remaining processing and fresh market fields to the west of the Mississippi River Thursday night and as far east as Lake Michigan and I-57 Friday night. As the front moves to the east, it is expected to wash out but a migration risk may extend east into lower Michigan and Indiana, as well, by Saturday night into Sunday. Growers with fields still at susceptible stages to damage are encouraged to continue to monitor traps and scout fields as some additional moth flights will be possible late this week into next weekend.
