Corn Earworm
Low corn earworm migration risks will remain in the forecast on a nightly basis through the weekend as a stagnant, southerly flow weather pattern remains in place across especially the western and central corn-growing region. Low risks are in the forecast for the next four nights along and west of I-57, or from Nebraska east into Illinois and north into especially eastern South Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin where some processing and fresh market fields may still be in operation even at this point in the growing season. Low risks do extend further east into Indiana, lower Michigan, and also far northwest Ohio by Sunday night into Monday as a cold front finally begins to work east. Growers with crops still at susceptible stages to damage should continue to monitor traps and scout fields for the next several days.
