Alert Details

Low corn earworm migration risks enter the picture tomorrow night into Thursday morning from Kansas and Missouri north northeast into Nebraska, southeast South Dakota, southern and central Minnesota, southwest Wisconsin, Iowa, and far northwest Illinois as the first in a series of cold fronts moves southeast into the Plains and northwest corn-growing region. South to southwest winds ahead of the front, along with at least scattered precipitation, may lead to some isolated moth flights into the risk area. A second cold front late in the weekend/early next week may bring a better chance for migration, but only Low risks are in the forecast at this time due to forecast uncertainty/timing. Stay tuned for subsequent forecasts this week as the weekend system bears watching for potential risk upgrades given crop stage and strength of front.
