Corn Earworm
Overall, corn earworm migration risks appear rather Low to none in the next week as northwest flow becomes the dominant feature across much of the corn-growing region. A low pressure system is expected to develop in the central Plains and track east late week into next weekend, and there may be enough of a period of southerly winds right up the Mississippi River and Ohio River valleys to produce isolated moth flights by Thursday night into Friday. Low risks are in place from roughly the Mississippi River east as far as the I-75 corridor and generally along/south of I-94 from southern Wisconsin into lower Michigan at that time, but no other risks are in the forecast. Growers, however, are encouraged to monitor traps and scout fields as some migrants may have arrived this past weekend.
