Corn Earworm
No risk of corn earworm migration is predicted in the next five days. Tropical Storm Gordon is expected to track north into at least the southern corn-growing region late this week and into the weekend, but should now stay far enough south to not impact any remaining northern fields that may still be at risk of seeing corn earworm damage. We will continue to monitor, however. Growers with crops at susceptible stages to corn earworm damage should continue to monitor traps and scout fields as moths are still present as are additional new generation larvae from earlier moth flights last month.
