Corn Earworm
Low corn earworm migration risks are predicted tonight into tomorrow morning from eastern Iowa into Wisconsin, northern Illinois, northern Indiana, northern Ohio, much of lower Michigan, and into southern Ontario, Canada as a cold front moves rather quickly southeast through the central and eastern corn-growing region over the next 24-36 hours. Southerly winds will be on the increase today ahead of the front, and isolated moth flights are likely especially near and east of the front and its associated precipitation. Growers with crops still at susceptible stages, especially fresh market and processing growers, should continue to monitor traps and scout fields until the crop is no longer at a susceptible stage to damage and/or is harvested. No additional risks are predicted after midday Friday.
