Alert Details

High corn rootworm beetle risks remain in the forecast for the next week across a large portion of the corn-growing region from eastern Colorado into Kansas, Nebraska, South and North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, northern/eastern Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, lower Michigan, and into southern Ontario, Canada. Numerous reports of both high beetle populations and lodging corn from corn rootworm feeding damage continue to come in from many different geographies throughout the corn-growing region, with some of the highest levels of damage/beetle counts seen in years from some areas. Growers are encouraged to continue scouting fields and even if beetle counts are not at threshold levels, it will be important to note where these populations are present as it may affect planting intentions for next year’s crop.
