Alert Details

Elevated corn rootworm beetle risks continue for the next week across a large portion of the corn-growing region, but the general theme is to reduce risks especially on the southern end of the risk areas given more advanced crop stages in the southern corn-growing region. High risks remain across portions of northern Kansas, Nebraska, South and North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, far northern Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, lower Michigan, and into southern Ontario, Canada. Moderate risks continue in the less intensive corn acreage regions of northeast Colorado as well as in portions of other corn-growing region states not included in the High risk where corn acreage is still present. Growers should continue scouting efforts and even if beetle counts do not reach or exceed threshold, a note on where these populations are present may be helpful in your crop rotation or planting intentions for next year.
