Alert Details

High and Moderate corn rootworm beetle risks continue in the forecast for the next week, although the overall risk area is beginning to focus less on southern and central corn-growing region fields given crop stage and time of year. Growers should continue scouting efforts not only for treatment reasons but also to determine if populations are present locally as this could affect next year’s planting intentions. High risks remain roughly along/north of the I-80 corridor including far northwest Kansas, Nebraska, South and North Dakota, Minnesota, central and northern Iowa, northern and central Illinois, Wisconsin, northern Indiana and Ohio, lower Michigan, and into southern Ontario, Canada. Moderate risks for more isolated/scattered issues in more fringe or scattered corn acreage regions but also where the crop is too advanced at this point to be of much concern includes far northeast Colorado, central/northern Kansas, far northern Missouri, southern Iowa, southern Illinois, and into central/southern Indiana and Ohio.
