Alert Details

Corn rootworm hatch probabilities will be accelerated and expanded further north given the rather prolonged period of very warm to hot conditions expected this week across the central and southern portion of the corn-growing region. Hatch risks have been expanded north to include portions of Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and into far southwestern/western Ohio through the next week. Growers located in these areas are encouraged to scout both corn and soybean fields for signs of corn rootworm larvae. Some sandier fields further north of the risk area may also see more isolated larvae emergence within the next week, as well.
