Corn Rootworm
Corn rootworm hatch risks continue to spread north in response to accumulated heat unit thresholds being met or exceeded for initial hatch to commence. Fields in Kansas, central and eastern Nebraska, southeast South Dakota, southern Minnesota, Iowa, central and northern Missouri, Illinois, southern Wisconsin, Indiana, much of Ohio, and into southwest and southern lower Michigan may see hatches either continue or commence on a scattered basis in the coming week. Growers in or near the risk area are encouraged to continue or commence root digs to determine larvae populations both in corn and soybean fields.
