Corn Rootworm
Corn rootworm hatch and larvae risks continue to spread north as initial hatch heat unit accumulations are met or exceeded. Fields from eastern Colorado into Kansas, Nebraska, eastern South Dakota, southern and central Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, southern and central Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, and central and southern lower Michigan as well as southwest Ontario, Canada are all expected to see corn rootworm larvae hatch either commence or continue in the coming week. Growers south of I-80 and east of I-35 are especially encouraged to dig up roots as peak hatch may be occurring or is imminent in some areas at this time.
