Corn Rootworm
Corn rootworm hatch and larvae feeding risks will continue for the next week across a large portion of the corn-growing region, but especially along and north of I-90. Beetle emergence and potential population growth as well as silk clipping will become an increasing concern in the coming weeks, especially south of I-90. Growers from eastern Colorado into Kansas, Nebraska, the Dakotas, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, lower Michigan, and into southern Ontario, Canada are all encouraged to continue monitoring for corn rootworms and should continue root digs in both corn and soybean fields. Fields especially vulnerable are those with a history of corn rootworms, corn on corn, or where visible lodging or related damage is visible.
