Corn Rootworm
Corn rootworm risks remain High across much of the corn-growing region for the next week. Increasing focus will be on beetle emergence and population growth, as well as silk-clipping where crop stage is more advanced. Some larvae hatch may still be occurring in far northern reaches of the corn-growing region, but beetle concerns will be taking the forefront of the picture in most areas at this point. Growers should continue regular scouting efforts and make any treatment decisions based on threshold values and field-level populations. Fields from eastern Colorado into Kansas, Nebraska, the Dakotas, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, lower Michigan, and southern Ontario, Canada are all at risk in the coming weeks.
