Alert Details

High corn rootworm beetle population risks remain in the forecast across much of the corn-growing region for the next week mainly along/north of the I-70 corridor. Risks are being reduced south of this area given more advanced crop stage, but growers with fields along/north of I-70 in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, the Dakotas, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, lower Michigan, and into southern Ontario, Canada are encouraged to continue scouting efforts especially in those fields more attractive to corn rootworm beetles (silking/tasseling). Even where counts may not be at or above threshold values, growers are encouraged to also take note of where beetle populations are present as this could influence planting intentions and decisions for the 2024 crop.
