Alert Details

Initial corn rootworm hatch risks will continue to spread north in response to higher accumulated heat units in the next week. Fields from Kansas into Missouri, central/southern Illinois, central Indiana, and central/western Ohio are at risk early in the week. By later in the week and next weekend, however, the risk will spread further north into portions of northeast Kansas, much of Missouri, far southeast Iowa, west central and central Illinois, and much of the remainder of northern Indiana into northwest Ohio. Growers with corn that was planted earlier on this growing season are at more risk at this time, but with some delayed and staggered planting dates occurring, the risk is being kept in the Moderate category for now given the expected scattered nature of initial hatch risks.
