Corn Rootworm
Corn rootworm hatch risks continue to spread north in response to increasing heat unit accumulations. Scattered, or Moderate, corn rootworm hatch risks extend from Kansas east and northeast into southeast Nebraska, Missouri, southern and central Iowa, much of Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and also southern lower Michigan. Growers are encouraged to scout fields and dig up roots especially in more advanced fields to determine local populations. Areas where corn rootworm have historically been an issue and also where recent heavy rainfall has not been as prevalent may be at a greater risk at this time.
