Alert Details

Initial corn rootworm hatch risks have been introduced for the first time in the 2025 growing season for a portion of the corn-growing region. Scattered initial hatches are now possible from eastern Missouri into central and eastern Illinois, potentially as far east as central Indiana. Hatches will not occur on a widespread basis, especially with recent and anticipated rains over the holiday weekend, but growers should be ready to do initial scouting in or very near this region by next week.
