Alert Details

Corn rootworm hatch risks will continue to expand northward and also at a faster rate given expected heat across much of the corn-growing region this weekend and into at least early next week. High risks are now found from Kansas into southeast Nebraska, much of Iowa, northern and central Missouri, southwest Wisconsin, northern and central Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. Moderate risks start out in these same states but further to the north and west of the High risk area where hatches may still be just commencing, as well as into eastern Colorado, South Dakota, Minnesota, and also lower Michigan. Growers across virtually all of the corn-growing region are encouraged to dig up roots and determine local corn rootworm populations especially given expected accelerated hatches in the coming week.
