Alert Details

Corn rootworm beetle population risks continue in the forecast across much of the corn-growing region with High risks in the more intensive acreage regions of Kansas, Nebraska, South and North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, northern Missouri, central and northern Illinois, Wisconsin, northern Indiana and Ohio, lower Michigan, and east into southern Ontario, Canada. Moderate risks are also predicted in the less intensive or fringe acreage regions of these same states as well as into eastern Colorado. Growers in these areas should monitor beetle populations closely especially in areas where silks are more fresh, but even if populations do not warrant treatment this year, locations where beetles are present should be noted as that could impact planting intentions for next year.
