Corn rootworm hatch risks will continue to spread north in response to favorable weather and soil conditions in the next week. High risks remain in place across a good portion of Kansas with an additional high risk area in northeast Missouri eastward into central Illinois and far western Indiana. Moderate risks stretch from southwest Colorado across much of the remainder of Kansas, southern Nebraska, northern Missouri, portions of southern Iowa, and into additional portions of central Illinois not included in the High risk area as well as into Indiana, Ohio, and far southwest lower Michigan. Growers in these areas should dig up roots and determine if any corn rootworm larvae are present over the next few weeks.
