Alert Details

Corn rootworm hatch risks will continue across much of the corn-growing region where this particular insect is usually present in the next week. Greatest (highest) risks are located in more intensive corn acreage regions from Kansas into Nebraska, eastern South Dakota, far southeast North Dakota, western into southern Minnesota, Iowa, northern Missouri, central and northern Illinois, southwest and southern Wisconsin, northern Indiana and Ohio, and lower Michigan as well as into far southwestern Ontario, Canada near Detroit, Michigan. More scattered or Moderate risks extend from eastern Colorado eastward into more fringe acreage areas of the aforementioned states that do not already have a High risk. Growers in or near the risk areas are encouraged to dig up roots and determine at what level, if any, corn rootworm larvae are present.
