Corn rootworm hatch risks now cover virtually all of the corn-growing region, but at this point most of the lingering hatches are focused across the northern fields north of I-80 and especially north of I-90. High risks remain in the more intensive acreage regions where corn rootworms may be present from Kansas into Nebraska and the eastern Dakotas, much of Minnesota, Iowa, northern Missouri, central and northern Illinois, Wisconsin, northern Indiana and Ohio, and into lower Michigan as well as far southern Ontario, Canada. Moderate risks focus on eastern Colorado and other fringe acreage regions of the corn-growing region. More advanced fields with tasseling and fresh silks emerging should prepare for possible beetle presence next, with lingering hatch risks again focusing across the northern areas.
