Corn rootworms will continue to cause scattered areas of damage all across the corn-growing region in the next five days. Fields from Colorado into Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and also into southwest Ontario, Canada will all be at risk. Beetles are emerging and are numerous in some areas with also some damage being reported while some late hatchings may still be ongoing in the Dakotas and far northwest Minnesota. Growers all across the corn-growing region should monitor closely for this insect and take appropriate action based on findings from local fields.
