Alert Details

Scattered corn rootworm problems are expected to persist across the corn-growing region especially to the north of I-80 through the next week. Any late planted or slower maturing fields that contain fresh silks are at most risk. Growers should continue to monitor beetle counts all across the corn-growing region, however, as high beetle counts now may signify a potential threat to the 2014 crop even if the field is past the critical growth stage now. Fields in northeast Colorado, northern Kansas, Nebraska, South and North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, northern Missouri, central and northern Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and southwest Ontario, Canada should continue to be monitored in the next week.
