Corn Rootworm
Corn rootworm threats continue across virtually all of the corn-growing region in the next week. Beetle emergence and activity will continue to be the dominant concern as hatching should be completed in most, if not all, fields by this point. Beetle populations should be monitored closely and any necessary action taken where needed. Growers should also monitor populations in specific fields and take note of higher counts as these fields may need planting decision adjustments next growing season. All fields from eastern Colorado into Kansas, Nebraska, South and North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, northern Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, lower Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and southern Ontario, Canada are at risk of seeing corn rootworm activity and potential clipping in the next week.
